 SATA POWER CABLE

SATA (serial advanced technology attachment)was introducedto upgrade the (Advanced Technology Attachment )ATA
interface (also called IDE)(integrated development environment) to a more advanced design. SATA includes both
a data cable and a power cable. The power cable replaces the old 4 pin peripheral cable and adds support for 3.3 volts. The
connector is shaped so it can only be plugged in the correct way

SATA AND IDE

IDE and SATA are different types of interfaces to connect storage devices (like hard drives) to a computer’s system bus. SATA stands for Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (or Serial ATA) and IDE is also called Parallel ATA or PATA(Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment). SATA is the newer standard and SATA drives are faster than PATA (IDE) drives. For many years ATA provided the most common and the least expensive interface for this application. But by the beginning of 2007, SATA had largely replaced IDE in all new systems.

ATX 20 PIN MAIN POWER CABLE

An ATX style connector is a replacement for the older P8 and P9 AT style connector. It is one of the largest connectors inside a computer. It
connects a power supply to an ATX style motherboard. As shown in the picture, the 20-pin cable is a multi-color cable and may be
labeled as P1

ATX 24 PIN MAIN POWER CABLE

The ATX 24-pin power supply connector is the standard motherboard power connector in computers today. The connector itself is a Molex connector. The 24 pin main power connector was added in ATX12V 2.0 to provide extra power needed by PCI Express slots. The older 20 pin main power cable only has one 12 volt line. The new 24 pin connector added one line 3.3, 5, and 12 volts.
